BlockStand Partners, the European Commission, and SMEs active in the Blockchain sector met online and discussed on the SME needs and recommendations for hashtag blockchain and DLT standardisation:

  • What are the main challenges that SMEs and other actors are facing in blockchain?

  • What are the insights from the from the SME users and providers in the blockchain community?

  • How is BlockStand promoting EU values and the SME perspective in blockchain standardisation?

This workshop was dedicated to SMEs and SME associations that wanted to dive into the complex world of blockchain and blockchain standardisation. After the opening address by the European Commission (Pierre Marro, DG CNECT), the event continued with a series of presentations from the Blockstand partners and SMEs active in the sector, from the perspective of both blockchain providers and users.

As a project priority, BlockStand also supports the increased participation of European experts in Blockchain and DLT (Distributed Ledger Technologies) standardisation activities and the Workshop to share the latest insights about the selection process.

The consortium also revealed the initial findings from its Blockstand questionnaire, focused on uncovering blockchain standardisation requirements and providing recommendations. The Workshop’s open discussion with the participants on the SME needs and recommendations related to blockchain standardisation and the feedback received positively contributed to the ongoing research work carried out by BlockStand.
