The aim of this questionnaire, launched within the framework of the BlockStand project, is to analyse the needs of targeted stakeholder groups (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) and Research & Innovation (R&I) communities), gauge the degree of awareness and involvement of relevant actors in blockchain standardisation and identify needs, gaps, recommendations and barriers to a more widespread use of blockchain technology and related standards.

BlockStand  is funded by the European Union and aims at supporting and increasing participation of European experts in blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) standardisation activities, with an eye of international leadership, encapsulating Europe’s values and digital sovereignty in the process. The questionnaire is a key step towards achieving the BlockStand goal of advancing the EU industrial, especially SME-led, leadership in blockchain/DLT development, as well as within the sectors which are benefitting the most from blockchain technologies (supply chain management, logistics, etc).

The findings of the questionnaire and the consequent identification of needs and recommendations will be discussed within a series of workshops aimed at different stakeholder categories and will feed into a Report on Standardisation Gaps and Recommendations that will be among the main deliverables of the BlockStand project.

Communications and information received will not be disclosed to third parties outside of the BlockStand consortium, unless this is necessary to fulfil a request of the party that initiated the communication, to provide a service the party has opted-in for, or it is a legal obligation.
