Paolo Campegiani is Head of Strategy and Innovation at Bit4id. With a strong engineering background and a Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering, his area of expertise has centred around blockchain technology and digital identity questions. He has been a member of CEN-CENELEC’s blockchain-focused JTC19 since 2018, and is also part of IEEE’s Computer Society Special Technical Committee on Blockchain.
Blockchain is a crucial technology for EU’s industrial leadership on the international level. BlockStand will not only strengthen European leadership in global blockchain standardisation but will also ensure that internationally used standards reflect European values and needs.
Thanks to experts’ coordinating inputs, the project is an essential means to prop up Europe’s strategic autonomy.
