Ignacio Alamillo is a legal expert at the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI). He has specialised as a freelance consultant in the electronic signature, digital identity and blockchain domains over the last 15 years. He has followed standardisation developments in these fields, notably during his tenure as board member of the European Electronic Signature Standardisation Initiative (1999-2004).
Blockchain is a crucial technology for EU’s industrial leadership on the international level. BlockStand will not only strengthen European leadership in global blockchain standardisation but will also ensure that internationally used standards reflect European values and needs.
Thanks to experts’ coordinating inputs, the project is an essential means to prop up Europe’s strategic autonomy.
